What is a Coach?

A Coach is a qualified professional that works with individuals to help them gain self-awareness, clarify goals, achieve their development objectives, unlock their potential, and act as a sounding board.

What is the difference between a Business Coach, Life Coach, Subject Matter Expert, and an Advisor?

CoCaptain’s Business Coaches can help you with professional development. Our Life Coaches support you with personal growth such as career transition, developing better habits, dealing with change, finding purpose etc. CoCaptain’s Subject Matter Experts (SME) are tenured professionals that can offer consultations in your areas of interest. Consider a tenured Founder counseling a new or aspiring business owner. Our Advisors are professionals that can offer guidance when you get stuck for only $25 per (30 minute) session. Imagine needing advice to handle a difficult situation at work. That’s just one of the examples where our Advisors can partner with you to find the right solution.

How is this different from “Executive Coaching?”

Whereas this process has historically been reserved for Executives or "high potential employees," our solution is equally beneficial for professionals at all levels including entry level and mid management team members! Plus, we offer life coaching, expert consultations, and on-demand advisors.

Am I a fit for CoCaptain?

Yes! Everyone can benefit from having a coach. Our solution can help you with professional development, personal growth, mentorship, and advice. If you’re a Coach, our solution helps you to grow your business by matching you with new clients for meaningful engagements.

What are the benefits to being coached?

There are a wide range of benefits including improved performance, better communication, heightened self awareness, and improved leadership. The coaching process can have individual and organization-wide impact. You can view more regarding benefits here.

Are coaching sessions confidential?

Coaching conversations are completely confidential between the Coach and Client. We want you to be completely open and honest about whatever is on your mind. If there is a sponsoring organization (such as your employer), we provide periodic status updates to ensure progress and alignment., but we do not share the content of your confidential sessions.

Are all sessions virtual, or can I meet with a Coach in person.

At this time, our sessions all take place via virtual call directly within the CoCaptain platform. We found this method be equally as effective and certainly more convenient than meeting in person or by phone. However, stay tuned as an in-person option may become available in the near future.

Can I work with the same Coach over an extended period of time or will I receive a different Coach for each session?

Yes. We encourage you to use the same Coach. There is a benefit to having a consistent partner in your journey to personal and professional growth.

Can I work with multiple Coaches at the same time to address different issues?

Yes. We encourage you to begin with one Coach. Our Coaches often have more than one are of specialty and therefore, they may be able to help you to address multiple different issues or grow in different areas. However, you are certainly welcome to leverage as many different coaches as necessary to support your journey.

Can I change Coaches if it’s not the right fit?

Absolutely. Finding the right fit is important for the coaching process to be a success. You can search for a new Coach directly on the CoCaptain platform.

How frequently should I speak with my coach?

You can speak with a Coach whenever and however often you would like. Some Clients only speak to their Coach when the need arises. Others engage in coaching programs such as with a Business or Life Coach. These programs can be around 6 months in duration to maximize impact.

How long are coaching sessions?

CoCaptain’s Business Coach, Life Coach, and Subject Matter Expert sessions are always 1 hour long. Sessions with an Advisor are always 30 minutes long.

How do you qualify to be a CoCaptain Coach?

You can view our qualifications on our Careers page here. When you register as a Coach, we will review your experience to ensure you meet the qualifications before verifying you on our platform. We offer training and/or training recommendations to help you obtain certifications and to qualify as a CoCaptain Coach.

How much does CoCaptain cost?

CoCaptain is free to join for both Coaches and Clients. If you are a Client, please note that Coaches will set their own prices per session. However, sessions with Advisors are always set at only $25 per (30 minute) session. You can select a Coach at a rate that best fits your needs. How do I book a session?

Booking a session is quick and easy. Once you register with CoCaptain, find the Coach that fits your needs, select a time slot, and wait for your Coach to confirm the appointment. You will receive an email confirmation with a passcode to access your virtual meeting within the CoCaptain platform.
